Community Activities

ProCredit Bank is a responsible neighbourhood bank, providing loans to small businesses and transparent banking services to the local population, with a focus on savings for lower income households. ProCredit has a development impact by fostering a savings culture and by providing loans to enterprises that drive economic growth and job creation in transition economies and developing countries.

We want to build long-term relationships with our customers based on mutual trust. Our internal and external communication, therefore, has to be personalised and centred in and around our branches. This is why we concentrate on direct promotions and personal communication. Through our branch activities and our day-to-day activities, we demonstrate to everybody in the neighbourhood how we differ from other banks in the market.

Beyond this, ProCredit Bank branches have a strong commitment to the neighbourhoods in which they are located. Customers should feel welcome and fully informed about financial topics. This is why we invest heavily in educational activities on financial literacy and transparency in the finance sector. We want to enhance public understanding of the price of financial services and how these services can be used. Our bank aims to be an integral part of the community, not only by providing financial services, but also by supporting the development of the neighbourhood in which the branch is located − by setting up playgrounds, for example, or supporting cultural activities.

Financial education

An integral part of our strategy is to build up a broader understanding of financial services and of the technical terms used by financial institutions. Customers who know about the financial sector will be able to understand and compare the different services offered on the market. To this end, ProCredit Bank opens its doors to everybody who is interested in understanding more about financial issues. This includes individual events at each branch, targeting all groups, or on-going school visits followed by visits to the branches together with parents and teachers, aimed at giving children a head start towards understanding banking services. Our branches put special emphasis on the development of a savings culture amongst their neighbours, no matter what the starting amount.

Social initiatives

Our commitment to the economic, social and cultural life of our neighbourhood.

All ProCredit Bank branches feel responsibility towards the neighbourhoods in which they are located.

They take that responsibility seriously and therefore support the broader community in social and cultural projects. All in all, it is the aim of ProCredit banks to establish themselves as trusted, long-term partners for the people who live and work in the surrounding neighbourhoods.
